Captain Chris Gauss and Captain Jhett Lewis RetireOn Friday January 27, 2012 a retirement celebration was held to honor the distinguished careers of Captain Chris Gauss and Captain Jhett Lewis of the Baltimore County Fire Department. Captain Gauss spent most of his 33 year career involved in fire investigations. MFEIA President Gregg Hine presented Chris with an award recognizing his many years of dedicated service to the fire investigation community. Chris was one of the founders of MFEIA and former president of the organization. Chris is also nationally known for his instruction in fire investigations. Chris was also recognized by the Maryland State Fire Marshal and ATF for his partnership, dedication and leadership in arson enforcement. Also in attendance were former MFEIA Presidents Brian Geraci, Mike Newberry and Jim Rubling. Best of luck Chris in your well deserved retirement.
